SUPERVISOR, CONSTRUCTION (BLDG STRUCTURES)
As a member of the critical infrastructure team, you will help design, build, activate and maintain some of the world’s most technically advanced manufacturing facilities. You will be able to operate with autonomy to solve diverse and complex problems, excel at managing multiple projects at a time and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. As a Supervisor, you will lead a team of technicians and be the extreme owner of all infrastructure work. The Facilities Supervisor is an important role and directly impacts the foundation of the Hawthorne site. This position will help to ensure that we keep facility maintenance costs low, vendors competitive and efficient, and find better ways to enhance our image to customers, visitors, and VIPs. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, coordinate and supervise a team responsible for facilities construction and repair at the SpaceX Hawthorne Production Facilities; dedicated to ensuring zero unplanned interruption in services to the employees and customers.
- Coordinate facilities projects to ensure vendors meet SpaceX, and local standards while delivering promised services, materials, and craftsmanship.
- Plan and direct construction activities of internal technicians as well as all involved subcontractors for each phase of construction.
- Enforces contract expectations from subcontractors and communication of any discrepancies.
- Maintains a safe work site by implementing safety requirements, enforcing safe work habits, observing OSHA requirements and any applicable agencies' regulations.
- Develop and administer an effective and efficient preventative maintenance program.
- Track facilities service requests with applicable systems and complete requests within established timelines and quality specifications.
- Oversee team of Facilities technicians, driving overall performance and effectiveness through individual coaching and development
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years' hands on experience in the construction or facilities industry
- 2+ years of experience in a leadership position
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R), concrete, framing, and industrial gas trade
- Knowledge of basic engineering and construction principles and methods
- Skilled in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and calculations. Ability to mark up and highlight coordination items.
- Demonstrate the ability to independently and effectively manage projects in an extremely fast paced and changing environment; keep projects on time, deal with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines and work with a diverse array of contacts
- Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite tools and PDF editor software such as Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat.
- Demonstrate the ability to independently and effectively manage projects in an extremely fast paced and changing environment; keep projects on time, deal with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines and work with a diverse array of contacts
- Understanding of job-related hazards in an industrial or manufacturing environment
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Provide 24/7 on-call support of all critical activities and emergency situations.
- This is not a remote or hybrid position and will require relocation if not already local to the Hawthorne, CA area.
- Position occasionally requires the ability to work extended hours and weekends when needed.
- Ability to stand, crawl, stoop, and push or lift up to 30 lbs. unassisted.
- Ability to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts when needed.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Supervisor, Facilities: $105,000.00 - $135,000.00/per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
