We are seeking to fill an intern position with the Aero Thermal Fluids (ATF) Engineering group for the summer of 2025 at our Huntsville, AL site.
Summer internships will start in approximately May/June and end in August/September.
Projects will focus on areas including thermal or fluid dynamics analysis of solid rocket propulsion systems and components.
Tasks will vary but may include analysis requiring knowledge of thermal analysis and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics), preparing analysis models and reviewing analysis results with senior analysts.
Interns may assist in reducing solid rocket motor test data to validate results of analysis models.
Candidate must be currently enrolled in a B.S. degree program in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or similar major) OR enrolled in an advanced degree program in related major, and returning to school upon completion of the assignment.
Preferred Qualifications
3.2 GPA or above
Junior standing or above; graduate students preferred
Solid academic track record of accomplishment
Working knowledge of Microsoft Software applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Leadership & teamwork skills
Coursework in Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, and Solid Rocket Propulsion
Computer programming experience
