About The Role & Team
The Cloud Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing systems operational efficiency. This SRE role will be responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability, scalability, and performance of our Cloud services platform (Public and Private). This role will focus on deployment automation and system optimization, ensuring consistent performance and reliability.
The ideal candidate will have good problem-solving skills and a strong desire to implement scalable and sustainable technological solutions. Part of the scope includes a close working interlock with development, operations, and IT teams to automate and optimize our systems, ensuring they are highly available, performing and resilient.
What You’ll Do
- Manage and maintain Azure Cloud environments, using tools such as Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics and Insights (container, network and storage)
- Ensure high availability and performance of Azure services through proactive monitoring and capacity planning.
- Support implementation and management of disaster recovery solutions and backup strategies.
- Automate routine tasks and create tools to improve team efficiency and system robustness
- Document procedures, system configurations, and operational practices to ensure knowledge transfer within the team.
- Conducting post-incident reviews to prevent recurrence and refine the system reliability framework
- Analyze system performance and recommend improvements to ensure optimal utilization of VMware resources in the Private Cloud Platform.
- Ensure that VMware environments adhere to security best practices and organizational compliance requirements.
- Oversee the Implementation of security patches and updates in a timely manner.
Qualifications
ABOUT YOUR SKILLS
- 1-2 years of experience in managing and operating Cloud environments specifically Azure.
- Understanding of network protocols to include DNS, NTP and NFS; load balancing; firewall management and security best practices
- Experience beyond simple scripts, in languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Familiarity with or understanding of DevOps culture and practices
- Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze systems logs and data
- Competence in using Cloud services for deploying, scaling and managing applications and infrastructure (Public and Private Cloud)
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline
NICE-TO-HAVE
- Azure certifications are highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Docker and/or Kubernetes for container management and deployment.
- Experience or understanding of CI/CD pipelines and use of Terraform.
