About the Role
Develops, organizes and delivers technical training programs and related materials in support of customers and/or company employees. Works with customer and functional organizations to establish course content and objectives. Prepares lesson plans from engineering documentation, field service requirements or software documentation. Ensures course material reflects current product features. Instructs participants in both classroom lectures and laboratory sessions. Follows up to determine applicability of course material.
Primary Responsibilities
- Act as the lead Operator trainer for WESCAM product and integrated systems
- Assist in the sales and bid activities that require responses for customer training
- Deliver system operation and maintenance courses to Customers world-wide
- Design, develop, and implement operator and integrated system level technical operations and maintenance training courses for WESCAM customers and internal personnel.
- Training coordination, scheduling, and planning of WESCAM operator and integrated systems training courses
- Work closely with external vendors in developing internal technical expertise for technical support of integrated systems
- Serves as a member of specialized technical support staff to provide input, direction and training to Field Service Engineers and Customers
- Assist in the development of best practices for troubleshooting of operator and integrated systems.
- Assist in the commission integrated systems platforms for customer installations / demos / tradeshows.
- Design and review course assessments / evaluations, validations, and creative feedback improvement for continued success
- Support Technical Publications and Logistics Engineering efforts as required.
- Proactively interface with ILS disciplines, Engineering, Field Service and other WESCAM organizations as required
- Support the validation of Service Procedures, as a part of New Product Introductions (NPI)
- Review of Technical Publications and Training materials, as required
- Other duties as assigned
- Travel internationally 30-50% of the time

- Extensive experience working with integrated systems in an engineering \ maintenance capacity
- Ability to manage a team of technical trainers
- Must be able to travel extensively to US, and overseas
- Must have the ability to obtain a security clearance
Desired Education and Experiences
- A professional Trainer’s certificate or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with Government training standards, training related MIL-STDs, and UK-MoD Government specifications is desirable
- Experience operating EO/IR systems
- Experience in developing technical training courses
- Familiarity of E-Learning principles and technologies
- Minimum of 5 years of professional training experience
- Minimum of 5 years leadership experience is desired
- Multi-lingual is an asset
- Bachelor of Engineering Degree or combination of education and equivalent experience
- Five years’ experience designing and building systems consoles/ mission equipment platforms
- Five years systems integration experience in an aerospace/ land/ maritime vehicle industry
- Five years experience in the maintenance and repair of integrated systems
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary technical support teams
