Overview:
We are looking for a strategic and highly skilled Finance Business Partner to join our team in Berlin. As the Finance Business Partner, you will play a critical role in driving financial performance and providing strategic support to the business unit leadership. This is a unique opportunity to shape the financial strategy and operations of a major operational base within our organization. You will be responsible for partnering with operational leaders to provide financial insights, drive decision-making, and ensure that financial objectives are met. The ideal candidate will be a proactive and hands-on finance professional with a strong background in financial analysis, forecasting, and business partnering within a fast-paced environment.
Activities - what you can expect:
- Serve as the key financial advisor to the leadership team of the station, providing strategic guidance on financial matters and supporting business decision-making.
- Lead the budgeting, forecasting and business planning processes at the station, working closely with operational leaders to develop robust financial plans that align with company objectives.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to understand business performance, identify trends and variances, and provide actionable insights to drive growth and profitability.
- Partner with operational teams to identify cost-saving opportunities, optimize resource allocation, and improve overall financial efficiency.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to monitor financial performance, and present findings and recommendations to senior management.
- Support the development of business cases for new investments, projects, and initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and financial return expectations.
- Identify and assess financial risks and opportunities, providing recommendations to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
- Work closely with various departments, including Operations, Sales, and Human Resources, to ensure alignment on financial objectives and provide financial support for strategic initiatives.
- Drive all monthly financial processes at the station including reporting in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP, liquidity planning.
Profile - what you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. A master’s degree or relevant certification is a plus.
- 5 years of experience in finance, business partnering, financial planning and analysis, or a related role.
- Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of financial drivers and metrics in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Proven track record of successfully partnering with senior business leaders to drive financial performance and decision-making.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial modelling, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and financial reporting tools (e.g., Hyperion, Cognos, OneStream) is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Fluent in both German and English.
- Experience with private equity reporting cadence and deadlines, experience with digitalization and transformation are a plus.
