Johnson Service Group has an immediate need for a Datacenter Technician. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that fosters teamwork, innovation, and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage thousands of iOS/macOS devices and peripherals across multiple labs.
- Ensure devices and systems are up and available for testing.
- Provision and deploy both released and unreleased hardware.
- Debug and troubleshoot hardware/software failures in devices.
- Develop scripts and automation for managing machine configuration and software deployment.
- Provide support to engineering teams in debugging systems.
Key Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience administering software services in a Unix environment, including automated provisioning of systems.
- Proficiency in shell scripting or Python.
- Experience with QA processes and developing Python test libraries.
- Knowledge of configuration management tools such as Puppet, Ansible, or similar.
- Familiarity with network devices (e.g., switches and routers) for troubleshooting or data gathering via console access and command-line interactions.
- Experience with macOS and iOS administration.
- Familiarity with Git or other source control systems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan and communicate priorities effectively to management.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with engineering teams, management, and cross-functional organizations.
- A creative thinker and problem solver with meticulous attention to detail.
- Highly organized, motivated, and results-oriented.
Education:
- BS degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering) or equivalent work experience.
