We’re one of the UK’s leading and most trusted tour operators. We provide holiday packages, hotels, car hire and experiences via ba.com and the British Airways contact centres. From carefully selected hotels to our 24-hour support helpline we take every element of our customers’ holidays seriously.
Here at British Airways Holidays we are in the privileged position to be part of the growing IAG Loyalty Group-made up of British Airways Holidays, Loyalty (the home of Avios) and The Wine Flyer. Having all the advantages of being in this strong collective, coupled with all the benefits that come with working in a smaller company. Our passion, excellence, creativity and warmth are the special qualities that make all of us at British Airways Holidays who we are.
Our business is growing and has ambitious plans, so it’s it a really exciting time to join our team.
About the role
This is a career defining opportunity to join a business with a culture that wows. You’ll manage the creation and delivery of our British Airways Holidays internal communications plan. You’ll create an internal narrative across multiple channels that engages, informs and inspires colleagues, playing a critical role in enabling them to do great work. This is a brand-new role so it’s all to play for!
What you’ll be doing
- Be accountable for the creation and delivery of the British Airways Holidays internal communications plan. We’re looking for an internal comms pro who will grasp the opportunity to challenge the norm and design interventions, content and experiences which inform, connect and inspire colleagues to do their very best.
- You’ll create a content and channels plan for all internal communication, making sure that our colleagues feel truly connected to the work we do across our business and relevant topics from the wider IAG Loyalty Group of businesses that we are an integral part of.
- Taking complex messages and translating them into authentic, engaging, well-timed content- there’s always so much going on here and we pride ourselves on keeping colleagues up to speed. You’ll break down complex messages and land them brilliantly for colleagues.
- Driving consistency of approach- you’ll not only be highly skilled at communicating messages yourself, but you will also support how others communicate authentically but in line with the overall plan you’ve created.
- Leading a calendar of events- you’ll take the lead of our calendar of events, everything from socials to company strategy days and simple moments that matter across the course of the year.
What we’re looking for
- A self-starter- this is a brand-new role to British Airways Holidays so the opportunity is huge- you’ll come armed with plenty of ideas and energy to supercharge internal communications in our business.
- We’re looking for a talented hands-on Internal Communications specialist who can turn their hand to writing, channels, multi-format content creation and events, depending on the challenge in front of them.
- Your written and visual skills will be a clear strength, we’re looking for someone who can demonstrate how their vision, visual and copy skills result in a tone of voice which resonates and impactful work which delivers positive results.
- You’re a natural when it comes to building relationships- both within British Airways Holidays and across the wider IAG Loyalty Group- you’ll recognise the opportunity to share expertise and ideas back and forth with the IAG Loyalty Comms Team
- As we are on a journey of transformation, experience in change communication will also be important. We’re looking for somebody who has experience in building cohesive long-term plans but can also respond to emerging information and short-term pivots.
- Creativity is at the heart of the role- you won’t fall back on the ‘same old’ way of communicating every time- you’ll build plans with impact that are memorable and ultimately inspire people to do great work.
- Experience of applying data and insight to understand what works and doesn’t and iterating approach to comms content and channel based on this.
- You’ll know how important it is to be networked both internally and externally. To truly understand what makes every part of the business tick so you can tell stories that resonate because they are real, well-informed and talk clearly to the chosen audience.
- You’ll relish being part of a talented People Team where you’ll contribute with your expertise.
- You’ll need to demonstrate stellar influencing skills, commercial acumen and bring external stimulus and creativity into our design thinking.
We might not be right for you, if
- You value perfection over fast iteration and progress; the wider IAG Loyalty team you will work with as well moves fast, we learn and iterate as we go; our environment isn’t right for everyone
- You’re looking to create but not build; this is an end-to-end role, you need to be comfortable owning your space, from ideation through to delivery and review.
If you think you have what it takes but don't meet every single point above, please do still apply. We'd love to chat and see if you could be a great fit.
