Role Summary
The Quality Assurance (QA) Auditor is responsible for developing solutions to provide independent and objective assessment of internal controls governing business, operational, and safety for functions and processes at Alaska and Horizon (and subsidiaries, including McGee Air Services), including but not limited to Flight Operations, Maintenance & Engineering, Inflight, and Airports. As an individual contributor, this role makes recommendations to improve routine and special reviews promoting risk management awareness, operational safety assurance, and helps to develop actionable plans to resolve audit findings.

With limited direction from management, works to support Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air operating division by providing an independent and objective assessment of internal controls governing business, operational, safety and regulatory (FAA) processes while working in a team ranging from one to three professionals.

Performs inquiries of subject matter experts to gain an understanding of processes for Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air operating divisions.

Takes initiative to develop solutions to complex problems, including creating process documentation, identifying internal controls, and developing and executing test plans.

Demonstrates project management skills and executes project objectives.

Collaborates with management to address business risks and to help develop actionable plans to resolve audit findings.

Assists in the performance of special reviews including, but not limited to, system implementations, cost-benefit analyses, and safety/regulatory and/or corporate compliance investigations compliance investigations.

Supports external reviews of company operating divisions by supporting both business and aviation-specific projects (such as Department of Defense (DOD) surveys and the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA).
Senior Level

Demonstrate project management and operational analysis by significantly contributing to audit engagement teams on risk-based reviews of complex operational, regulatory compliance, station operations, and safety processes in all operating divisions, requiring independent judgement and initiative.

Act as a subject matter expert in QA/audit functions and processes and a reference/resource for Audit team members.

Manage execution of all audit engagements in accordance with the AAG QA Manual and leverages risk-based auditing principles.

Collaborate with senior management to develop solutions to complex regulatory compliance, safety, and operational risks and applying professional expertise to influence operational leaders responsible for designing and executing actionable plans to resolve audit findings.

Promote risk management awareness and operational safety assurance throughout the organization by facilitating the development of tools and techniques that strengthen risk management and internal controls.

Manage projects to support the performance of special reviews including, but not limited to, system implementations, internal investigations, and surveillance activities, as well as safety/regulatory and/or regulatory compliance investigations.

Salary Range
74400.00-142600.00 / year
Pay Details
QA Auditor, Audit Programs: $74,400.00 - $111,600.00
Senior QA Auditor, Audit Programs: $95,000.00 - $142,600.00
Salary Details
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
