Airbus is looking for a Supply Chain Quality Managerto join our Equipment & Systems team within our Procurement Department in Herndon, VAor in the states of IN/OH to be in proximity to the suppliers.
In this role you are responsible for a Equipment and Systems supplier(s) and will be accountable for ensuring on time delivery and on quality of equipment & systems for Airbus Aircrafts.

The Procurement team's mission is to acquire indirect goods and services for Airbus commercial aircraft and helicopters, playing a major role in generating value and contributing to the overall competitiveness of the company. Our team members ensure on-time delivery and on-quality of equipment and systems, drawing on their expertise in Industrial, Operations & Quality Management, and strong relationship building skills to problem-solve and proactively mitigate supply chain issues.

Your Challenges:
Located to allow the role holder to act locally on-site at the supplier as required, with travel to other suppliers and Airbus offices.
Ensure maturity and robustness of Equipment & Systems Supplier’s manufacturing and supply chain processes to avoid supply failures
Utilize best practices and quality management techniques to continuously improve Supply Chain related performances for deliveries of supplied products
Assess supplier capacity and capability to secure ramp-up period as well as Airbus industrial objectives (major planning changes, ramp down, etc.)
Monitor and analyze performance through Key Performance Indicators and organize the surveillance of the suppliers through audits, assessments, recovery plan and mission, CID (Corrective, Improvement, Development) and industrial risks management with internal and external concerned parties
Appropriately monitor major industrial risks, major changes (industrial transfers, major planning changes) and supporting design changes on an industrial point of view in order to protect Airbus operations
Initiate and follow recovery or transformation plans with Suppliers in case of delivery performances degradation to ensure deliveries are back to Airbus requirements
Ensure Suppliers’ preventive/corrective action plans are managed and achievements are at the expected level in terms of end results.
Prepare and support regular management reviews (PRM, Industrial Senior Management Meeting, Quality Supply Chain Meetings) with suppliers to regularly review delivery and supply chain performances and ensure that preventive/corrective & improvement actions are continuously undertaken.
Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, such as MFT leaders, Programs and Final Assembly Lines (FALs). This includes communication, customer / supplier relation & meetings, and improvement actions.
Your Boarding Pass:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Industrial Engineering or similar field. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of education.
8+years professional experience in a procurement operations environment (monitoring, auditing, developing suppliers/operations) or equivalent.
Green Belt/Black Belt certification, CPIM certification (Certified in Production & Inventory Management) Preferred
Knowledge of Supply Chain and Quality Processes
Knowledge of Quality Regulations, Quality Core Tools Knowledge, Practical Problem Solving, International Mgmt. system standards, Authorities / Regulations / Standards, Knowledge of QMS, Auditing/Assessing, IPCA+ and CCP tools
Communicating at all levels within the supplier’s organization and Airbus to influence the decision making
Ability to summarize complex industrial situations in a clear manner
Ability to travel 60% Domestic and International
Authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
