LEAD WELDER
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote a healthy working environment for your teammates
- Assign technicians to responsibilities, and prioritize work before official start of shift based on production schedule and in alignment with the technician skills matrix
- Help personnel with any training and development they would need assistance with
- Review pass-down; update lead board with pertinent information, and work with the Lead counterpart to tackle any schedule needs or shop improvement projects
- Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corresponding corrective action plans
- Maintain area metrics, scheduling tools, and consumable supply inventory
- Check work after completion of each operation in job and/or completed job to ensure it is complete per drawing
- Coordinate support organization efforts to minimize production interruptions
- Conduct a communication briefing at start of shift with technicians
- Prepare your following shift for success
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 3+ years of welding experience
- 1+ years of experience welding at a launch or production site
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of experience welding on steel, aluminum, and stainless-steel projects
- 5+ years of layout and fitting experience
- 10+ years of structural welding experience welding large scale structures, jigs, and fixtures
- Understanding of KUKA robotic processes
- Proficient in blueprint reading and lay out
- Proficient in GTAW and GMAW
- Proficient in plasma cutting
- Knowledge of TIG welding processes
- Experience working with overhead cranes and forklifts
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to pass all weld certifications required in the area
- Able to pass visual before being X-rayed
- Able to perform the following functions: lifting up to 30 lbs. unassisted, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing stooping, stretching, and carrying
- Able to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Level 3: $30.00/hour + $2.00/hour lead differential
Level 4: $35.00/hour + $2.00/hour lead differential
Level 5: $40.00 - $50.00/hour + $2.00/hour lead differential
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
