Our client is seeking a highly motivated Safety & Compliance Manager to join their growing aviation organization in Switzerland. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring that all operations—including flight operations, training, Approved Training Organization (ATO), and ground activities—are conducted in full compliance with EASA and Swiss National Aviation Authority requirements. The successful candidate will play a central role in maintaining and continuously improving the company’s Safety Management System (SMS), while fostering a strong safety-first culture across all departments.
About the Role
As Safety & Compliance Manager, you will be the focal point for regulatory compliance and safety oversight. You will lead audits, risk assessments, and investigations, ensuring that safety events and non-conformities are properly managed and followed up. You will also coordinate safety boards, emergency response planning, and compliance training, guaranteeing that critical safety information is effectively communicated throughout the organization.
This position reports directly to the Accountable Manager and requires a proactive leader who can balance regulatory obligations with operational realities, while driving continuous improvement in safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and enhance the Safety Management System (SMS) in line with EASA and ICAO requirements.
Manage the Compliance Monitoring Program (CMP) across all operational areas.
Conduct internal and external audits to verify compliance with EASA AIR OPS, Part-FCL, and Part-147.
Lead hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation processes.
Promote safety reporting and ensure effective root cause analysis of safety events.
Maintain and test the Emergency Response Plan (ERP), coordinating related training activities.
Deliver safety and compliance training to operational staff.
Supervise documentation control and ensure manuals meet regulatory standards.
Report SMS/CMS performance and compliance outcomes directly to the Accountable Manager.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a professional with:
Minimum 5 years of experience in aviation safety, compliance, or quality under EASA/ICAO frameworks.
At least 2 years in a Safety/Compliance Management role.
Strong knowledge of EASA AIR OPS, Part-FCL, Part-147, and ICAO Annexes.
Auditor training and proven experience in conducting audits.
Excellent English skills (ICAO Level 5/6 mandatory); Italian strongly preferred, French/German a plus.
Valid Swiss or EU citizenship, or Swiss work permit.
Willingness to relocate within Switzerland and travel internationally (up to 10%).
