Astronics Advanced Electronic Systems (AES) is seeking a Buyer Planner to join our diverse and cohesive Supply Chain Management Team in Kirkland, WA.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The Buyer/Planner applies company standards, policies, procedures, and best practices in performing the following:
- Plans, schedules and monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle to determine required materials purchases, primarily with established suppliers.
- Reviews and interprets MRP and other sales order output to ensure appropriate inventory requirements are planned and changes are implemented.
- Responds to purchase requisitions.
- Resolves invoicing, documentation, scheduling and quality discrepancies.
- Creates and maintains vendor and item cards in supply chain management or other enterprise-wide systems.
- Ensures material quality standards are met and non-conformances or variances are approved and/or minimized.
- Gathers quotations, examines bids and places purchase orders within authorized spend and guidelines. Ensures flow-down of requirements.
- Monitors cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.
- Monitors and tracks vendor performance and internally escalates on non-performance concerns.
- May support periodic supplier business reviews (SBR).
- Monitors inventory levels of assigned commodities and parts, suggesting changes to order point levels and order quantities to optimize inventory investment.
- All other duties as assigned.
This position may require knowledge of SOX / 404 internal audit controls and related documentation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college and/or a combination of certifications (APICS and/or CPSM) and/ or 2-5 years of experience in a related manufacturing environment.
- Lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma a plus.
- Demonstrates familiarity in the essential functions of the position including:
- Supplier management
- Purchase Order lifecycle management
- Supplier quality
- Manufacturing environment in a related industry preferred.

- The Buyer Planner will work primarily in a controlled office environment

Base salary range for the Buyer/Planner?is $29.14 - $43.71. Mid-point is $36.42/hour.
