Astronics Advanced Electronic Systems (AES) is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to join our Manufacturing Engineering Team in Kirkland, WA.
This position will support our 2nd shift and will be eligible for a $2/hour shift differential. Hours are Mon - Thurs 12:00 pm – 10:30 pm.
JOB SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician will apply engineering theory and principles to problems of industrial layout or manufacturing production, usually under the direction of engineering staff
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The Manufacturing Engineering Technian is a skilled specialist that applies company standards, policies, procedures, and best practices in performing the following:
- Respond to issues on the production floor.
- Assist with basic concerns following set processes and procedures, escalating to others when needed.
- Quickly Responds to production line issues, such as tooling misalignments, machine stoppages, or incorrect work instructions.
- Assist Manufacturing Engineers with time studies, maintaining Manufacturing instructions, initiating change requests, and uploading information into the ERP/ERS.
- Perform evaluations and audits of current Manufacturing work instructions to make improvements with safety and quality in mind.
- Regularly engage with operators on the production floor to ensure instructions are clear, accurate, and easy to interpret.
- Flow work instruction feedback to Manufacturing Engineers and Assist in incorporating changes.
- All other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
- Associate’s degree in engineering, mechatronics, or another applicable technical field.
- Demonstrates proficiency (typically 4-6 years of direct experience in the essential functions of the position).

Technical Skills:
- Utilization of Enterprise resource planning ERP software
- Microsoft Office

- Understanding of schematics/drawings and interworking’s of machines/engines (i.e. AC/DC power conversion)
- Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Engineering Fundamentals: Understanding engineering principles and theories, particularly those related to industrial engineering.
- Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of manufacturing production processes and the various techniques used.
- Industrial Layout Design: Ability to design and optimize industrial layouts for efficiency and productivity.
- Time and Motion Study: Expertise in conducting time and motion studies to analyze worker operations and identify opportunities for improving efficiency.
- Process Improvement: Skills in identifying, recommending, and implementing process improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Data Analysis: Proficiency in analyzing data from studies to draw meaningful conclusions and insights.
- Quality Assurance: Understanding of quality assurance principles and practices to ensure that production standards are met.

Base salary range for the Manufacturing Engineering Technician is $31.76 - $47.64. Mid-point is $39.70/hour.
