As a
Material Expeditor - NPI, you will work closely with shop floor technicians, support functions, and logistics to support the assembly & integration of our eVTOL aircraft. Primarily focused on material control, kitting / parts accuracy, and timely response to parts related disruptions. You will play a key role in product quality, timely execution, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Forecast material requirements based on assembly schedules, maintenance needs, and upcoming projects to ensure timely availability of parts and components.
- Ensure material accuracy by verifying part numbers, quantities, and documentation against assembly and inventory records.
- Coordinate material changes and substitutions in collaboration with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure updated specifications are met.
- Collaborate with shop floor technicians and supervisors to understand material needs, report shortages, and align material flow with real-time assembly changes.
- Request and track material movements through the logistics department to support timely delivery and reduce assembly downtime.
- Support the control and organization of parts on the shop floor, ensuring materials are stored, labeled, and managed in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Participate in weekly NPI project reviews, presenting material readiness status and driving cross-functional action items
What you need:
- Experience in material coordination, logistics, or inventory control, preferably in the aviation or aerospace industry.
- Working knowledge of MES & ERP/MRP systems and inventory management software.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across various teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with shifting priorities.
- New Product Development experience in Aerospace & Aviation
Bonus Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Aircraft Production Certifications such as AS9100, ISO 9001, or other aviation industry standards.
- Understanding of Engineering Software Tools (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or ERP-integrated design systems) to help interpret drawings, part changes, and technical documents.
- Basic understanding of FAA regulations and compliance requirements, especially in relation to material traceability, documentation, and approved parts usage in regulated maintenance or production settings.
- Experience working with electric aircraft, aircraft configuration management, and FAA conformity.
