Who Are We Looking For?
- Bachelor’s degree in any field
- Experience in flight scheduling and network planning (preferably in an airline or aviation operations environment).
- Experience in developing and maintaining flight schedules (seasonal and ad hoc) considering aircraft rotation, maintenance, crew, and airport slot constraints
- Familiarity with IATA slot coordination processes (SSIM format, slot requests, SAL/SAQ submissions).
- Experience in fleet assignment and aircraft utilization planning and knowledge of schedule optimization tools and scheduling system.
What’s The Role All About?
The Fleet & Schedules Planning Specialist is responsible for the formulation of fleet plans that optimize network profitability through the choice of the most cost efficient and operationally suitable aircraft for the planned route network. Responsible in the development of operating plans that consider traffic demand and preferences, route connectivity and the competitive environment, maintaining a safe operating environment, utilizing the best aircraft for the routes, optimizing aircraft utilization and maximizing network profitability.
Major Responsibility Areas
- Formulate schedule plans that maximize network profitability and aircraft efficiency based on the company’s long-term plan.
- Develop and execute airline schedules, including aircraft rotations, to ensure optimal resource utilization.
- File slot coordination requests with airport slot coordinators to secure required time slots.
- Secure and monitor flight operation approvals from government authorities (e.g., MIAA, CAB).
- Create short- and long-term operating plans considering traffic forecasts, cargo needs, route connectivity, and operational capability.
- Evaluate and coordinate extra flights, charters, aircraft changes, and cancellations based on traffic and operational factors.
- Coordinate with technical, maintenance, flight operations, and airport teams to confirm capability for planned schedules.
- Monitor flights for schedule irregularities and implement corrective actions for disruptions.
- Coordinate schedule adjustments due to NOTAMs (e.g., airport closures, runway issues) with relevant departments.
- Prepare and deliver the monthly SSIM file to crew scheduling, revenue accounting, and cargo teams.
- Participate in system improvement projects for the flight scheduling system.
- Upload and update PAL’s downloadable timetables weekly on corporate and intranet websites (multiple language versions).
- Coordinate with Online Sales and Digital Marketing for regular codeshare partner data updates.
