This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station’s vast network of rooms.
The role
As a Senior Surveyor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Being part of the MEH Alliance working on Hinkley Point C is a chance to be involved in a major project with national significance.
Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for leading a team and ensuring all surveying activities are undertaken in accordance with the CDM regulations, amongst management of reporting on surveying activities within outlined Erection Areas.
- Ensure any supplied setting out data to check design co-ordinates against the site grid system is accurate and available.
- To provide quality checks on control set ups and point accuracy.
- To establish and maintain survey control networks throughout the site.
- Provide accurate centreline and level datum’s to enable accurate installation of equipment, supports and Piping/Electrical/HVAC systems
- Conduct surveys on pipe spools to provide as fabricated data including bolt hole rotations and flange deflections.
- Conduct as built surveys of installed equipment.
- Ensure all equipment is calibrated.
This position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools, or standing for extended periods of time.
This role is full time, thirty-seven hours per week, and is based at Hinkley Point C, near Bridgwater.
Essential experience of the Senior Surveyor
- Demonstrable experience as an on-site surveyor and managing a surveying team
- Strong setting out experience
- Experience in the use of survey equipment (Total Station, digital level) and the production of survey reports.
- Conversant with all related legislation, codes, and standards.
- Knowledge of CDM regulations
- AutoCAD experience
- Starnet software experience
- Use of Leica instruments
Qualifications for the Senior Surveyor
- Surveying or Engineering degree or qualification
- NEBOSH or similar safety qualification
