We have an exciting opening for a Division Engineering Manager in Chemnitz, Germany. This position provides strategic and technical leadership for all engineering activities within HPME, playing a vital role in generating profitable organic growth for the Division. This role is responsible for driving market-focused innovation and major product improvements by transforming customer requirements and ideas from key stakeholders like business development, the Global Product Platforms (GPP) and/or own investigations into competitive, manufacturable solutions using the WINOVATION process. The position ensures close collaboration with the Division Business Development Manager and the sister divisions in the other Parker regions to develop new products and applications that meet global customer and market requirements. The Division Engineering Manager monitors emerging technologies, technical literature, and patents to guide future product and technology roadmaps, and works in partnership with Division Quality Management to define and uphold robust engineering and quality standards that support divisional growth, reliability, and profitability.
Your main responsibilities
Lead the engineering function for HPME, providing technical direction, resource planning, and performance management for the engineering team
Drive new product development initiatives, applying the WINOVATION process to convert market and customer needs into robust, manufacturable hydraulic and electrical pump and motor solutions
Collaborate closely with Sales Companies, and the Division Business Development Manager and Business Unit Managers to translate voice-of-customer input, market trends, and application requirements into product roadmaps and development priorities
Oversee major design enhancements, simplification initiatives and value-improvement projects for existing products to improve performance, reliability, cost, manufacturability, and sustainability
Support key customer projects, major quotes, and applications with technical expertise, including problem-solving and root cause analysis for complex field or production issues
Build engineering capabilities through mentoring, coaching, training, and development of team members, fostering a customer-centric culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement thriving for a high-performing, multi-location engineering team
We are looking for talent with:
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Ten or more years of experience in Engineering or R&D, with at least five years or more years of experience in a leadership role, preferably within a manufacturing environment
Previous work experience ideally includes experience in leading engineering teams in hydraulic or fluid power product development, managing end‑to‑end new product introductions (preferably using structured innovation processes), driving major design and cost‑improvement projects on existing products, and collaborating closely with marketing, sales, quality, in an international engineering organization to deliver market‑driven solutions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English to convey engineering information clearly and effectively to all stakeholders
Willingness to adapt to changing business environments and priorities, demonstrating resilience in the face of challenges
