About the team you are joining
Reporting to the Director,
Settlement & Banking, the Head Settlement Operations will be
responsible for all Settlement activities relating to the operations handled at
GDC Montreal, leading
developing and managing the Settlement Operations team in the day-to-day
execution of the Settlement activities according to the global Standard
Operating Procedures (SOP’s), ensuring all IATA strategic objectives are met,
including operational and budget targets.
What your day would be like
- Manage and Lead the Settlement process, becoming the point of contact for expertise and decision making in the Settlement area for the operations handled in the location.
- Manage and lead Settlement Managers & associated team of staff in the execution of operational activities. Accountability for the performance of the process in the Settlement operations assigned.
- Responsible for the execution of the process according to the global SOP. Accountability for the performance of the process in the Settlement operations assigned.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of the Settlement process, as well as the Hinge Account Reconciliation.
- Responsible for the Budget of the Settlement operation in the location.
- Assist the Director Settlement & Banking, together with the rest of the Settlement Department in the management and coordination of the office activities and initiatives.
- Be present in local Governance forums and attend key customers on matters related to Settlement Operations when required
- Cooperate with the Banking team in the preparation of Clearing Bank tenders to ensure that they cover the requirements for a high-performance IATA Settlement operation
- Cooperate with the Director Settlement & Banking in the completion of the implementation of global GDC initiatives for the operations assigned to the GDC locations.
- Contribute to the improvement and development of the Settlement operations in close cooperation with the rest of Department Heads and the rest of the GDC departments.
- Cooperate with the Director Settlement & Banking and the rest of the department heads into building and driving a customer centric organization
- Implement the Round the Clock GDC strategy in the Settlement Operations in the location, to cover global requirements for operations handled by other GDCs, and act as backup for Business Continuity scenarios.
We would love to hear from you if you meet the following criteria
- At least 15 years of experience in Finance, Banking and/or Travel industry.
- At least 5 years of experience with fund collection operations and processes.
- Proven ability to effectively lead and manage large operational teams is a must.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal/ external stakeholders at all levels from different cultures and background. Ability to speak in public.
- Sound knowledge of banking practices and cash management products
- Proven leadership skills
- Initiative and ability to perform under pressure
- Good collaboration skills
