Position Summary
They Parker Hannifin Autoclave facility in Erie, Pa is seeking an experienced QA Inspector.
Ensures incoming materials and parts, along with outgoing products, meet Parker’s established quality standards and engineering specifications. This role focuses on the hands-on verification of parts using measurement tools and technical drawings. The Quality Inspector plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of the production process by monitoring supplier quality, supporting internal manufacturing, managing gages, and assisting with customer claims and internal audits.
Responsibilities
Supplier Quality and Incoming Inspection: Conduct physical inspection of parts received from suppliers. Verify dimensions against part drawings using manual gages (calipers, micrometers, etc.) to ensure compliance.
Internal Production Quality: Perform routine inspections on the production floor to confirm that manufacturing processes are yielding parts that meet internal and customer standards.
Gage Management: Assist in monitoring and maintaining the facility’s inventory of measurement tools. Ensure all gages are properly calibrated and documented.
Customer Claim Support: Assist in the documentation and tracking of customer claims.
Data Entry: Utilize basic computer skills to document inspection results, update logs, and maintain quality records. Experience with Microsoft Excel and SAP is a plus.
Audit Assistance: Support with internal production and safety audits.
Other miscellaneous duties as requested by management.
Qualifications
- Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret part drawings and technical specifications. Proficiency with manual measurement gages (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gages, etc.).
- Computer Skills: Basic proficiency with computers; ability to learn and use data entry software.
- Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing or inspection environment is preferred but not required for candidates with strong mechanical aptitude.
