The Boeing Company is currently seeking Software Engineers–Developers to support our Open Architecture Systems Integrated Software Solutions team located in Berkeley, Missouri. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization.
The selected candidate will join Boeing’s Open Architecture Systems Integrated Software Solutions for work on a Department of Defense (DoD) consortium standards effort, which focuses on the innovation, development, and maturation of platform-agnostic, software-defined architectures for advanced weapon systems. This position will involve working within the Air Dominance Architectures and System Engineering (ASE) Group and consortium members to support the development and integration of mission-critical architectures such as Agile Mission Suite (AMS), Autonomy-GRA (A-GRA), and Open Mission Systems (OMS). The effort emphasizes rapid prototyping, modularity, and alignment with DoD standards to enable seamless integration across multi-domain platforms. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a paradigm shift in defense acquisition and system integration. This role will require leveraging technical expertise to lead or contribute to the architecture definition, software development, and compliance testing of Government Reference Architectures (GRAs). The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, system engineers, and program managers, to deliver high-quality, mission-agnostic solutions.

Position Responsibilities:
- Supporting the design, development, and delivery of Starter Kits (SKs) that include software, models, and documentation for adopting programs
- Ensuring compliance with ASE standards and implementing automated compliance tests.
- Participating in integration efforts to align and rationalize architectures across the consortium
- Contributing to Modeling and Simulation (MODSIM) activities to validate architecture performance in mission-representative environments
- Collaborating with industry partners to drive innovation and avoid vendor lock-in through open standards and best practices
- Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software products
- Implements current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks and changes in regulations relevant to software development
- Develops, establishes, monitors and improves software processes, tools and key performance metrics that align projects with organizational goals and industry benchmarks
- Executes and documents software research and development projects
- Advises on software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations
- Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process compliance to project plans and industry standards
- Reviews, analyzes, and translates customer requirements into initial design of software products
- Develops, maintains, enhances and optimizes software products and functionalities for systems integrations
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
- Experience in software architecture and implementation
- 1+ years of experience in software design
- 1+ years of experience in requirements analysis
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- Level 3: 3 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Level 4: 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3 years’ experience working with industry and military specifications and standards requirements and processes
- Active Secret Clearance
- Knowledge of specification format requirements, guidelines, and change control processes. Understanding of relationship between specifications/standards and aircraft/product certification systems
- Knowledge of how to derive and allocate requirements (e.g., system, sub-system, software) and show traceability throughout the product lifecycle
- Knowledge of software architecture and design methodologies. Ability to synthesize software architectures and designs that meet requirements, characteristics and constraints.
- Knowledge of software development processes in compliance with established internal and industry standards, guidelines, and best practices in the development, testing, and deployment of software
- Knowledge of implementation, validation, and verification processes, practices, and guidelines to ensure software development quality, performance, and safety
- Knowledge of general and software development and testing tools, capability and usage. Examples include compilers, linkers, debuggers, data analysis tools, graphical user interface builders, post processing tools, requirements management tools, and web authoring tools

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range for Associate Level (Level 2): $99,450 - $134,550
Summary pay range for Experienced Level (Level 3): $126,650 - $171,350
Summary pay range for Senior Level (Level 4): $160,650 - $217,350
