Astronics Luminescent Systems is seeking a strategic, detail-oriented Master Scheduler-Planner to serve as the critical link between our customers and our production floor. In this role, you will ensure Customer Service, Sales and the Production Floor are collaborating effectively by translating customer requirements into actionable, efficient production schedules.
Whether you are an up-and-coming professional with 2–4 years of experience or a seasoned planning veteran, we are looking for someone who can master complex schedules and keep our operations moving at peak performance.
Key Responsibilities
As the Master Scheduler-Planner, you will oversee a mix of finished goods and subassembly departments. Your day-to-day will include:
- Master Scheduling: Create a production schedule that balances customer demand and Economic Order Quantities (EOQs) with department capacity and supply chain constraints.
- Capacity & Analysis: Calculate workloads and analyze capabilities. You’ll ensure the right materials, tooling, and personnel are ready before "releasing" work to the floor.
- Strategic Promising: Review new sales orders, forecasts, and lead times to determine accurate shipment dates for our customers.
- Operational Leadership: Lead production meetings to address bottlenecks, track order status, and adjust schedules in real-time to meet tight deadlines.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Identify constraints and communicate potential delays to Customer Service to ensure proactive expectation management.
- ERP Management: Release work orders, including complex rework and RMAs requiring unique Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routers.
- Compliance: Maintain working knowledge of AS9102 internal audit controls and related documentation.
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: At least 2 years of production planning experience specifically within a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong mathematical and analytical abilities; proficiency in ERP systems and production logic.
- Multi-Level Planning: Experience planning across 1 to 3 levels of subassemblies, including managing outside processing.
- Preferred: APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) is a significant plus.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Base salary: $28 - $32/hr, influenced by several factors including experience, skill set, education, certifications, market conditions, and business needs.
