About the team you are joining
You will report to the Head of Settlement
and Banking, responsible for all Settlement activities in North Asia. You will
lead, develop, and manage the Settlement Operations team in the execution of
daily settlement processes in accordance with global Standard Operating
Procedures (SOPs). Your role is pivotal in driving operational excellence while
advancing innovation and strategic alignment across the region.
What your day would be like
Your main responsibilities include:
Lead and manage the Settlement process, serving as the regional
subject matter expert and decision-maker.
Manage the Settlement team to ensure effective execution of
activities and accountability for performance. Oversee timely preparation
and execution of bank orders for BSP and CASS fund collection and
settlement, following scheduled calendars and IATA financial policies.
Ensure all processes adhere to global SOPs, maintaining the
integrity and accuracy of Settlement activities and Hinge Account
Reconciliation.
Monitor and enforce compliance with legal garnishments,
financial sanctions, and regulatory requirements, ensuring proper fund
withholding and reporting.
Maintain and update Settlement user guides with
country-specific and compliance-related content.
Implement the Round-the-Clock GDC strategy to ensure global
operational coverage and act as backup in Business Continuity scenarios.
Champion the adoption and enhancement of regional technical
solutions to streamline settlement workflows and improve system
integration.
Design and implement end-to-end process improvements to
increase efficiency, reduce manual intervention, and strengthen controls
across the settlement lifecycle.
Coordinate with internal risk and compliance teams to implement
and enhance settlement-related control frameworks and risk mitigation
measures.
Assist the Head of Settlement & Banking in coordinating
team activities and initiatives, support the rollout of global GDC
initiatives.
Drive the standardization of procedures across the region and
embed industry best practices.
Work closely with the Banking team to prepare Clearing Bank
tenders that support high-performance IATA Settlement operations.
Represent IATA in local governance forums and engage key
customers on settlement and compliance-related matters as needed.
Collaborate with Regional Offices on GDC operations and
regional strategy alignment.
Cooperate with the Customer Service department to address and
resolve customer inquiries related to Settlement operations.
We would love to hear from you if
A university degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analysis,
IT or a related field.
At least 10 years of experience in finance, banking, operations, IT, or a related industry, with a proven track record in
process or technology improvement initiatives.
Ideally 5 years of hands-on experience with IATA Settlement
operations and processes.
Practical knowledge of compliance, sanctions screening, and
financial risk controls in a settlement or treasury environment.
Strong understanding of BSP/CASS processes from either IATA or
airline/agent perspectives.
Familiarity with banking practices, cash management products,
and financial technology applications.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the
ability to engage stakeholders at all levels across diverse cultures.
Ability to speak publicly, work under pressure, and deliver
against tight deadlines.
A strong customer service ethos and a commitment to continuous
improvement, innovation, and regulatory adherence.
