Line Maintenance is an operational critical section in the Engineering Department that supports the Company’s brand and business by delivering a safe, reliable and cost-effective line maintenance service to Cathay Pacific Airways as well as our third-party customers in the global network.
This role is to support Engineering by supervising the operation to enable our customers to enjoy our service in the form of exceptional safety, on-time performance and cabin experience as well as supporting the Engineering Manager on overseeing the operational and commercial performance at allocated station(s) and ensuring the delivery of the safe and exceptionally reliable travel experience that supports our brand and business.
Key Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities
- Supervise the shift to ensure the team delivers a safe, efficient and effective operation
- Manage the day-to-day engineering operation
- Manage and oversee third party supplier performance (technical, ramp services, de-icing, refuelling etc.) as the Operational Duty Holder
- Supervise and certify aircraft maintenance
- Coordinate with other operational teams to ensure delivery of a safe and exceptionally reliable travel experience to customers
- Deputise as the Engineering Manager when required and assume the full responsibilities as detailed in the Engineering Manager’s Job Description
- Perform routine maintenance, inspection, servicing, defect rectification and issue certification for Cathay and Air Hong Kong aircraft as rostered
- Perform ground-based aircraft health monitoring before arrival to assess aircraft serviceability and respond accordingly
- Perform additional aircraft maintenance as requested by Cathay Maintenance Control and Maintenance Control Planning Hong Kong as appropriate to qualification
- Provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers
- Perform relief and other operational duties on other stations as requested
- Other duties and projects as reasonably directed by the Engineering Manager
Working Environment and Safety
- Actively monitor ground safety during aircraft servicing and maintenance and ensure that all people operating around the aircraft adhere to general ramp safety practices
- Ensure safe working practices are applied and that all accidents are investigated and reported
- Maintain familiarity with the local airport and company Emergency and Accident procedures
People Development, Performance Management and Labour Resource
- Supervise the station Engineering team on the applicable shift by leading, supporting and coaching to achieve success and solve issues
- Help to build a strong and motivated team to foster positive team spirit and facilitate teamwork
- Demonstrate leadership and lead by example in accordance with Cathay’s core values
- Help to develop employees with high potential and identify learning opportunities to ensure appropriate training and development and execute succession plans
- Maintain active and ongoing dialogue in relation to employee goals and individual performance
- Enhance the employee experience in line with the role level and the internal brand promise
E&A
- Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required
Requirements
Academic Qualifications
- Aircraft Maintenance Licence (HKCAD or equivalent) with appropriate aircraft type endorsement
Knowledge, Skills, Training And Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience of aircraft engineering as Engineer or equivalent
- Solid operational and technical knowledge
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated expertise, management and leadership qualities
- Preference is given to applicants currently residing and authorized to work in Korea. However, work-visa sponsorship may be considered for candidates on a case-by-case basis
