Job Description:
Join our Manufacturing Technologies team to lead the critical industrialization phase of advanced composite components at the Illescas Plant. While we are part of a global R&T network, this specific role is focused on the execution, scale-up, and operational excellence of new industrialization programs.
You will be responsible for defining, validating, and optimizing manufacturing processes for composite structures. You will bridge the gap between engineering design and shop-floor reality, ensuring that processes involving Layup (FPM/AFP), Hot Debulking, and Curing are robust, efficient, and meet our rigorous quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Industrialization & Process Setup
Lead the industrialization of composite manufacturing lines at the Illescas site, ensuring alignment with program goals regarding production rate, recurring costs, and quality.
Define and qualify specific manufacturing processes, with a primary focus on Layup technologies and Hot Debulking desirable.
Oversee the end-to-end composite cycle, including bagging, autoclave cure cycles, debugging/demoulding, and subsequent trimming and drilling operations.
Technical Validation & Quality Control
Analyze manufacturing results through rigorous inspection protocols, including dimensional inspections and Photogrammetry.
Manage process validation using Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and destructive testing methods to ensure structural integrity.
Lead troubleshooting activities on the shop floor to resolve technical issues during the ramp-up phase.
Documentation & Standards
Act as the focal point for Airbus Process Instructions (AIPIs), ensuring global standards are adapted and maintained for local industrial application.
Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to co-design processes that enhance manufacturability (DFM).
Utilize project management and quality tools (PFMEA, PDCA, Risk Analysis) to mitigate industrialization risks.
Key Skills & Qualifications
Technical Expertise
Strong engineering background with a specialization in Aeronautical Composite Materials.
Essential Knowledge: Proven experience in one or more of the following specific technologies:
Layup technologies: FPM (Flat Ply Placement) and AFP (Automated Fiber Placement).
Hot Debulking (This is a highly desired qualification).
Autoclave curing processes and bagging techniques.
Trimming, drilling, and assembly of composite parts.
Inspection & Testing: Knowledge of Dimensional Inspections, Photogrammetry, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods.
Process & Project Management
Demonstrated ability to define, set up, and industrialize manufacturing systems in a factory environment.
Experience with prepreg materials and an understanding of their behavior compared to dry fiber.
Competence in project management, specifically regarding planning, cost control, and industrial risk management.
Familiarity with environmental solutions and Health & Safety practices in an industrial setting.
Languages
English: Professional level (C1/C2) is mandatory, as this role requires interaction with global teams and technical documentation in English.
Spanish Professional level
Soft Skills & Profile
Hands-on Approach: Motivated for fieldwork and direct interaction with machinery and production lines.
Problem Solver: Creative and proactive in resolving immediate industrial challenges.
Collaborative: A strong team player able to work across functions (Engineering, Quality, Production).
Adaptable: Comfortable working with uncertainty during the ramp-up and debugging phases of new programs.
Why Join Us?
Play a pivotal role in the immediate industrialization of key aircraft components at the Illescas Plant.
Work with state-of-the-art technologies including AFP and advanced inspection systems.
Opportunity to see your work directly impact the efficiency and quality of the production line.
Continuous professional development within a global leader in aerospace.
