About the Role
Join our team supporting the Australian Defence Force Ground Support Equipment (ADF GSE) program, where Babcock partners with Defence to manage and sustain a diverse fleet of critical assets. As a Senior Engineering Technician, you’ll play a key role in keeping this capability mission‑ready by providing technical expertise across engineering, maintenance and asset management activities.
You’ll work within a high‑performing Technical Services Team, supporting the sustainment of GSE assets, resolving technical issues, analysing defects, developing engineering changes and ensuring the integrity of maintenance data, publications and configuration records. This role is hands‑on, varied and deeply connected to day‑to‑day operations, giving you the opportunity to work closely with Defence units, suppliers and internal specialists.
Your engineering judgement will help guide decisions across the product lifecycle, while your ability to communicate technical information will support collaboration with customers and stakeholders. You’ll contribute to continuous improvement, support the service desk on rotation and help strengthen the performance and reliability of the GSE fleet.
If you’re looking for a role with purpose, variety and the chance to apply your technical skills to a nationally important Defence program, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
To be successful, you will bring
- Australian Citizen with a Defence security clearance (or the ability to obtain).
- A technical vocational qualification/ certificate in a related discipline (Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical).
- Previous experience in the application of logistic support analysis within ILS acquisition or sustainment programs.
- An understanding of applicable ILS and Engineering Toolsets (e.g. PLM or MRP systems, modelling, design, simulation and analysis software)
- Previous experience within a maintenance environment, preferably within the Defence industry.
