Position Summary
Provide engineering and technical field support to launch, deploy and support HIFE Division newly developed products and equipment, across marine, hydraulic, petrochemical, and oil & gas industries. Products supported include electronic sensors, filtration vessels and complete system solutions. In collaboration with the engineering team, define installation methods, tailor solutions to application requirements, manage field trials, and ensure successful commissioning, ongoing support, and on‑site customer troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Manage, organise and coordinate field trials end-to-end (installation, commissioning, validation).
- Survey sites; define installation requirements and identify required integration solutions.
- Consult, collaborate, negotiate and manage customer expectations
- Travel extensively internationally to support HIFE Division trials and troubleshoot customer issues.
- Install equipment and products involving mechanical, electrical, and software systems incorporating industrial communication protocols.
- Provide technical support and guidance on HIFE equipment & products.
- Produce clear and concise technical documentation, reports, and installation guides.
- Analyse field-trial data and convert insights into technical & commercial recommendations.
- Collaborate with OEMs on equipment & product integration.
Qualifications
Completed a recognised apprenticeship preferably multi-skilled.
Preferably qualified to at least NVQ level 4/HNC level.
Able to demonstrate competence in a wide range of engineering skills and disciplines including electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics and system installation/integration.
Excellent fault finding and diagnostic skills on wide range of plant and equipment
Safety knowledge, preferably with an IOSH qualification.
Experience in electronics and PLCs is an advantage.
Computer literacy
- Ability to manage and implement projects independently.
- Strong customer-facing skills; able to work with service teams and adapt to varying client technical levels.
- Can‑do attitude and flexibility; hands-on electro‑mechanical/controls experience.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation and reports.
- Willing to travel internationally at short notice.
Proficiency with industrial communication protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, Modbus, CANopen) and control systems (PLC; HMI, SCADA) would be an advantage.
