Strategic Purchasing Manager
Job description
- Manage team in order to implement purchasing strategies in liaise with SAFRAN Purchasing.
- Sell Safran Group organization to affiliates.
- Ensure development of Safran Purchasing common reporting tool.
- With the scope of indirect commodities, coach and mentor direct reports during request for quotations, supplier responses analysis, complex contract negotiations and implementation of supplier business awards for the assigned commodities.
- Ensure reporting to central organization.
- Lead companies to best practices in purchasing.
- Define and manage corporate projects, ex.: collect, consolidate, aggregate, standardize and rationalize internal requirements or/and consumption including budget and Strategic Plan.
- Formalize follow-up and reporting about market vision, commodity SAFRAN needs (short and medium term)
- Watch and suggest organization improvement for the dedicated indirect Purchasing resources in North American zone
- Develops road map through analyzing global spend and identifying cost reduction opportunities at corporate level for North America.
- Works collaboratively with internal customers to understand and consolidate purchasing requirements from all Safran companies
- Target the best market options
- Monitors supplier performance and contract execution

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent
Professional Experience:
- Ten (10) or more years of related experience in an aerospace or manufacturing environment.

Job Knowledge and Expertise
- Demonstrates knowledge of the procurement and supply chain industry
- Must have Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word & Outlook
- Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP is a plus
- Knowledge of French language is a plus
- Technical knowledge or Engineering background is a plus

Additional description
- Develop market intelligence and validate commodity strategies including type of management: Global, Country, Regional, Local.
- Defines procedures, practices, processes and contract models (in collaboration with Legal) to best market standards for each commodity group.
- Proposes improvements of tools & processes and develop purchasing maturity within the Group, fosters operational excellence.
- Partners with the Senior Management Team and Safran group teams to align purchasing with the overall business strategy.
- Reports to corporate purchasing directorate.
