The Requirements and Capabilities function is seeking a Head of function.
Working to the Chief of Requirements and Capabilities, you will support the development of business strategies, growth plans and ensure the identification, pursuit, management, and growth of the whole business. Your role will be responsible for providing strategic direction and advice and lead the customer account management team in developing and executing growth campaigns. You will ensure close customer engagement identifies and understands their needs. You will lead the team to identify compelling solutions, develop comprehensive offers and achieve successful, profitable, long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the creation and implementation of strategies that ensure business growth and ensure growth activities align to the business strategy
- Oversee the generation and execution of growth campaign strategies
- Coordinate the ongoing identification, qualification and tracking of credible and realisable growth opportunities across all practicable customers to ensure sustainable long-term growth
- Engage and influence stakeholders across the Australian Defence Organisation up-to and including 3-star uniformed personnel and Senior Executive Service band 3 / Deputy Secretary (SES3 / DEPSEC) in support of the agreed business strategy
- Understand and align the growth strategy to the customer planning and budgeting cycle to maximise growth potential
- Travel will be required, both within Australia and internationally, to fulfil the requirements of this role.
Skills, Experience And Qualifications
- Proven, current relationships with senior leaders across the Australian Defence Force and Australian Department of Defence
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage key business relationships, identify key customers and stakeholders and establish and maintain ongoing relationships.
- Understanding of whole-of-business fundamentals beyond growth and demonstrated ability to act consistently in best interest of the organisation
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply market and competitive intelligence and company knowledge to optimise strategic positioning
- Proven experience establishing and executing growth strategies aligned to the long-term business strategy with significant impact on results
- Excellent understanding of the Australian Defence environment, Commonwealth processes and the Australian Defence industry environment.
- Demonstrated experience in managing all aspects of executing pursuits including the development of strategy, establishing win–win relationships with customers and suppliers and leading people in the implementation of plans to meet customer requirements and expectations
- Ability to conduct complex negotiations.
- A Degree in Bachelor of Business, Project Management, or Engineering
