We are looking for an experienced Head of Accounting to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the accounting department, setting up and improving accounting processes, and overseeing the accuracy of financial statements in compliance with applicable legislation and internal standards.
Job responsibilities:
- Ensure full-cycle accounting, including incoming and outgoing invoices, assets, liabilities, etc.
- Ensure timely month, quarter and year-end close in accordance with set requirements
- Prepare and submit tax declarations (VAT, CIT, etc.) and statutory reports (statistical reports, bank reports etc.) in compliance with Slovak legislation
- Coordinate external and internal audits and ensure compliance with audit requirements
- Lead continuous improvement of accounting processes, systems, and controls to increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance
- Continuously review and improve accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Active support to preparation of annual report
- Lead, develop and mentor accounting team
- Support business with Ad-hoc requests and reports
- Control and allocate expenses across various company projects
- Liaise with group finance, treasury, and corporate accounting teams
- Support CFO regarding accounting and finance management questions

Requirements for the employee
- English - Upper intermediate (B2)
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central - Advanced
- KROS Omega - Basic
- Microsoft Office - Advanced5–8 years of accounting experience, preferably in aviation or transportation
- Proven experience in accounting team leadership
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and tax compliance
- Experience working within group or multi-entity corporate structures
- High stress resistance, flexibility, and adaptability
- Professional accounting certification (CPA, ACCA, CA or equivalent) preferred
- Storng knowledge of IFRS considered as advantage
