About the team you are joining
The Standardization e-Invoicing team in IATA serves a
dual role.
- The first is in managing invoicing compliance and requirements for SIS – IATA’s Simplified Invoicing and Settlement system and
- The second is the coordination and effective management of all Central and Regional invoicing and collection activities, including but not solely ISS activities.
This role pertains to the first part where we continue
to enhance SIS, the IATA’s e-Invoicing platform for aviation industry, to be
compliant in different jurisdictions around the world. With compliance defined
by individual country governments and no standard formats in place, we are
working on providing a standardized solution for our members which reduces
complexity and provides an automated submission of their invoices to tax
authorities as required.
Reporting to the Head Standardization e-Invoicing, you will be the go-to person for new e-Invoicing country implementations
What your day would be like
Be the technical SME for the country implementations for e-Invoicing mandates and coordinate the requirements/integrations between the SIS technical team and external e-Invoicing service providers/tax authority systems;
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather
requirements and translate them into technical specifications;
Lead technical meetings and walkthroughs with airlines, partners, and customers;
Perform data mapping and testing between the SIS
IS-XML standard with various other e-Invoicing standards to facilitate
interoperability;
Assist customers in testing and transitioning to live operations;
Once fully implemented, transition the country to the operations teams for monitoring;
Create awareness within IATA regions and country managers on invoicing compliance;
Work with Regional office / local office on queries from airlines on compliance for IATA settlement system invoices;
Attend calls with local tax authorities to discuss changes and how it could impact airline/IATA systems.
We would love to hear from you if you have
A deep understanding of global and country‑specific e‑Invoicing frameworks (e.g., UBL, CII, Peppol, FatturaPA, CFDI, B2B/G models);
Ability to parse, validate and troubleshoot structured files using schema validators and developer tools;
Knowledge of document and data standards, XML/XSD mastery, and the ability to produce data mapping workbooks;
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail and ability to work independently;
Project and/or product implementation experience;
Self-starter attitude, good communication and interpersonal skills, and you are a team player;
Strong knowledge of Power BI for data visualization and
reporting;
Fluency in English; any other language is a plus;
Familiarity with Simplified Invoicing and Settlement and other IATA systems (it would be beneficial).
