Safran Electrical Components Canada Inc., specializing in the manufacturing of fluid conveyance and electrical components for aerospace, defense and commercial customers, is looking for a motivated Quality Inspector to join our team. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and safety. You will be responsible for contributing to, implementing, and executing quality processes, procedures, and standards to guarantee the integrity of our products from supplier to customer. Your attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement will be essential in maintaining our reputation for delivering superior components.
Responsibilities
• Utilizes inspection equipment, precision and non, to perform Inspection of product characteristics as documented on work package documentation and as outlined in product drawings.
• Determines acceptance or rejection of product characteristics based on documented acceptance criteria, and industry standards.
• Processes documentation applicable to work packages and performs associated data entry.
• Prepares FAI documentation as required by work packages and supports maintenance and data entry into FAI database and associated work sheets.
• Prepares FAI inspection on DISCUS and customer designated software
• Performs inspection activities for IIQP, RIQP, FIQP requirements for customer deliveries.
• Performs in-process audits of manufacturing orders.
• Supports tool validation and calibration processes.
Qualifications
Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident to qualify for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) Canada. Due to operational requirements and the time needed to obtain CGP clearance, only candidates who meet this criterion will be considered.
• College Diploma in mechanical, manufacturing engineering technology or a related discipline. CQT or CQE designation an asset.
• 2-3 years' experience in a Quality role in a manufacturing environment.
• Operational knowledge of quality inspection and documentation such as PPAP, FAI, FPI, CMM reports.
• English fluency with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on being practical and meticulous.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, from shop floor to CEO.
• Highly proficient in MS Office – Excel, Word. Knowledge of Lotus Notes an asset.
• Excellent mathematical skills.
• Ability to read part drawings and specifications.
• Ability to work well within a small team and work independently.
• Follow both Safran Production guidelines and Safran Policies & Procedures in accordance with AS9100 QMS.
• Ability to lift and pull up to 30lbs.
• Regular attendance is an essential requirement of this role due to operational needs.
• Ability to work in accordance with Ontario Health & Safety legislation.
Salary Range: $47,000 -$53,000
Must be available to work during regular business hours:
Mon-Thurs 8:00am – 4:30pm
Fri 8:00am – 2:00pm
