About the team you are joining
Reporting to the Head Data Science, you will be
an integral part of the Data Science team, collaborating with the Data
Governance and Data Engineering teams to create and deploy machine learning
models and algorithms to address complex business challenges.
You will be responsible for ideating, designing
and implementing cross-divisional data science solutions to use cases that span
across multiple business areas. You will work closely with stakeholders across IATA
to identify opportunities for using data to drive business value and will be
responsible for managing and developing data science projects from conception
to delivery.
What your day would be like
Play a key role in shaping IATA's data-driven
future by using your expertise in Data Science to drive an innovative cultural
change based on data insights, transform how we approach decision-making,
project work and value-creation.
Design, develop and implement machine learning
solutions that integrate with existing systems and processes and manage a
diverse portfolio of Data Science initiatives within agreed strategic
priorities, supporting key business goals across the organisation.
Act as a force multiplier by setting technical direction,
raising standards, mentoring data scientists at different seniority levels,
overseeing and coordinating external vendors, and unblocking complex
initiatives.
Ensure exemplary communication to various
stakeholders -as well as upper management- by translating analytical concepts
into business terms and presenting complex information clearly.
Contribute to the development of IATA’s strategy for Data
Science for current and future AI solutions. Participate as a member and lead
specific strategic workstreams on the Artificial Intelligence Enabling Board
and other key data science communities.
We would love to hear from you if you have
An advanced degree in data science, mathematics,
engineering, physics or related discipline.
Proficient quantitative, statistical, and
programming skills – including experience in data science and analysis as well
as experience in machine learning in the form of developing analytical and
predictive models.
8+ years of work experience in Data Science or equivalent
work experience in advanced ML as well as natural language processing, deep
learning techniques and Generative AI/LLMs.
Strong stakeholder management skills, ability
to shape and influence technical conversations across diverse technical and
business audiences.
Experience with cloud-based machine learning
services such as AWS SageMaker, Google Cloud Vertex AI and beyond.
Experience with agile development methodologies,
data or ML engineering is an advantage.
Aviation industry experience is an advantage.
