The Role: Principal Software Engineer
As a Principal Software Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal leadership role within our growing Development team — the group that builds and evolves all proprietary software powering easyJet holidays.
You’ll lead the technical direction of major, high-impact engineering initiatives, architect scalable and innovative solutions, mentor engineers across the function, and help shape our long-term technology strategy.
This is a role for a hands-on engineering leader who loves solving complex problems, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and wants to make a visible impact on products used by millions.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading complex, multi-team software projects from concept to delivery
- Designing and maintaining modern, scalable architectures
- Setting engineering standards and championing best practices
- Mentoring and developing engineers across the team
- Owning critical solutions and ensuring high‑quality, resilient code
- Working closely with Product, Design and stakeholders to translate ideas into technical reality
- Driving innovation and contributing to long-term technology plans
What You’ll Bring
Technical expertise in:
- .NET / .NET Core and Node
- JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular or jQuery
- CMS platforms (Sitecore experience a bonus)
- HTML, CSS and modern front-end practices
- GIT, CI/CD tooling (e.g., TeamCity)
- Cloud technologies (AWS preferred)
- Agile delivery environments
- TDD/BDD, multi‑level testing, high-transaction systems, and enterprise-scale engineering

hybrid role, with
