Overview:
In this role, the Manager will be accountable for Customer and SBU interactions on various programs to plan and execute test solution design and coordination between engineering disciplines, ensuring compliance with industry and company design standards and performance to program requirements, schedule, and cost targets
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership and managerial direction to the Test equipment team supporting multiple Collins SBU’s with cross functional teams
- Manages, develops and motivates a team of experienced engineers of test equipment design, development and life cycle management
- Develops and maintains strategic partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers and direct reports.
- Accountable for project planning, developing and administering budget, schedules and performance standards for multiple projects
- Accountable for managing program risks and developing mitigation plans.
- Perform resource planning, analyses hiring requirements, metrics and trends to influence team strategy and performance.
- Performs competency assessment, arrange training & performance discussions
- Drives process excellence, continuous improvements and ensure compliance.
- Leads departmental/organizational initiatives.
- Explores and drives strategic growth opportunities for test equipment.
Basic Qualifications:
- 12-15 years of relevant experience in electronics product development & qualification testing with at least 4 Years of experience in Project and People Management.
- Bachelor's/master’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent degree
Primary Skills:
- Experience in Electronics product development/Test equipment life cycle
- Ability to lead a team of multi-skilled engineers
- Broad knowledge on the aerospace & defense processes such as AS9100, D0-254, D0-178, D0-330 etc.
- Capability to interface & manage multiple stake holders
- Ability to find new methods and processes to approach complex situations in the respective area(s) of expertise.
- Highly motivated self-driven individual with experience in managing medium size teams
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent problem solving and analytical capabilities
- Exposure Industry 4.0 is an added advantage
