Our client is seeking a
Senior SPO Delivery Lead responsible for leading enterprise SharePoint Online migration and digital workplace delivery initiatives, ensuring structured rollout, governance, adoption, and compliance across the organization. (Hybrid, Calgary)
Must Have skills
- 5+ years Project Management experience delivering technology or digital-workplace projects
- PMP certified (or in progress)
- 3+ large SharePoint migrations (100+ sites each), including on-prem/DFS to SharePoint Online
- Knowledge of M365 / SharePoint Online site architecture, permissions, metadata, and modern site design
- Experience using Azure DevOps (ADO) for work management
- Strong stakeholder communication skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams and end-user change/adoption
Nice to have skills
- Familiarity with migration tools such as ShareGate or equivalent
- Understanding of Records Management
- Experience with retention labels
- Microsoft Purview experience
- Experience developing training and enablement materials
- Experience supporting governance, compliance, and quality assurance frameworks
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage detailed migration plans, schedules, timelines, dependencies, and resource allocation for SharePoint Online delivery
- Standardize and oversee processes for content review, requirements gathering, site deployment, training, data migration, reporting, and governance
- Define and execute rollout strategies for SharePoint sites across the organization
- Proactively manage project risks, issues, budget tracking, mitigation plans, and escalation processes
- Establish and enforce governance frameworks, approval gates, quality checkpoints, and compliance reviews
- Maintain stakeholder engagement plans, communication plans, milestone reporting, and leadership updates
- Lead SharePoint site migrations using Agile methodologies and Azure DevOps for sprint and task management
- Oversee design and implementation of M365 data repository structures aligned with records management standards
- Develop retention label strategy leveraging Microsoft Purview to support records management requirements
- Provide guidance on technical design decisions to align delivery with business objectives and compliance expectations
- Drive change management, training delivery, user enablement, and adoption activities
- Facilitate workshops to address pain points, define roadmaps, and implement user experience improvements
- Capture lessons learned and best practices to support continuous improvement and future migrations
