Primary Job DutiesRamp Agents are responsible for processing baggage between baggage areas in the airport facilities and aircraft, as well as receiving and dispatching aircraft.
- Loading and unloading aircraft and carts
- Stacking and unstacking baggage in the aircraft
- Complete safety checklists for motorized equipment
- Drive and operate motorized equipment (e.g., conveyor belt)
- Read and interpret aircraft load sheets, checked baggage tags
- Escort passengers and special-needs customers safely and courteously
- Ensure compliance with SkyWest and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and policies
Minimum RequirementsWe are looking for individuals excited to take on new challenges, especially within the airline industry! SkyWest Ramp Agents come from a wide range of backgrounds, education, interests, and experience.
- 18 years old or older
- Possess a valid, unrestricted state-issued driver’s license
- Have a High School Diploma or GED
- Position-specific clearances include, but are not limited to, FAA, TSA, Port Authority, and U.S. Customs clearances
- Pass a pre-placement background check and drug screen
- Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
Physical and Other Requirements- Lift heavy bags over 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Work outdoors in all temperatures and weather conditions
- Attend four days of Basic Station Training
This position requires a flexible schedule, including split shifts that may occur during early mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Training Schedule
This Below Wing Ramp training program spans five weeks and includes both computer-based and hands-on ramp instruction. Training is held four days per week, approximately nine hours per day, with scheduled breaks and a lunch period. Tardiness and absence are not tolerated. Please note that the scheduled day and time are subject to change.
