What Will You Be Doing?
The Senior Manager, Financial Systems will be responsible for leading critical innovation initiatives for systems supported by the financial systems group and utilized by other stakeholders throughout the organization. This leader will be critical to the development and improvement of relationships with internal stakeholders, instrumental in maintaining internal controls for existing systems and responsible for developing new systems and functionality.
Essential Functions
Project Management (30%)
- Maintains organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
- Develops project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and serves as a bridge between understanding functional user needs and technical requirements.
- Develops and leads governance for proper assessment, planning, implementation, and continuing support for all technologies and systems that impact finance and other ancillary functional stakeholders.
- Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation.
- Periodically presents project status to appropriate stakeholders and steering committees.
- Ensures projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
Innovation Analysis and Implementation (20%)
- Actively stays abreast of new technological developments and provides recommendations for utilization of such technology as appropriate.
- Leads the company initiative for implementation of robotic process automation (RPA) including actively participating in data mining for RPA pipeline, process documentation/mapping, vendor management, governance, and on-going administration.
- Develops and trains finance and other functional teams related to innovation opportunities and technologies.
- Leads implementation of any other innovations and technologies that impact the finance group and related systems.
Data Analytics and Dashboarding (20%)
- Develops and maintains a team of data analytics professionals
- Develops processes to gather and ensure integrity of data from various sources
- Elicits feedback from various internal finance and other stakeholders on needs for data and analysis
- Gathers data and utilizes dashboarding to provide reports and outputs that provide value for various stakeholders in the organization for better analysis and decision making
Support Finance System Needs (10%)
- Strategizes and develops new tools and views in order to support the fast-changing needs of the business.
- Leads and participates in RFPs as appropriate.
Responsible for the proper functioning of Financial Systems (10%)
- Develops enterprise-wide financial system strategy.
- Responsible for Segregation of Duties/Security roles.
- Ensures that current systems are operating efficiently and effectively and that all required upgrades are properly assessed and tested as well as updated on a timely basis.
Internal Control Support (5%)
- Assists the Finance Department in designing an effective control environment to ensure SOX compliance.
- Manages all control documentation and testing of financial systems.
Staff administrative tasks (5%)
- Delegates special projects to staff.
- Runs one-on-one meetings with staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Accounting, Finance or related field; combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieu of degree requirement
- Working knowledge of SQL or other database query language and dashboarding tools such as Power BI/Tableau
- 6 to 9 years of experience total with some combination of the following areas: project management, financial systems (including implementations), and/or Finance
- Problem solving and analysis experience
- 2 to 4 years of leadership experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 certification preferred or currently working with Microsoft D365
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with focus on Excel; ability to create queries in Excel and Microsoft D365
- Experience working with Coupa a plus
- Experience working with Navitaire a plus
- Experience working with Anaplan a plus
- Ability to work well with other team members
- Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with various stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Possess good mathematical aptitude
- Able to work under pressure & meet deadlines
- Able to work with strict confidentiality
