The role
As a Principal Engineer – LSAR, you’ll be at the forefront of one of the UK’s most critical defence programmes. You’ll lead the development and population of the LSAR for the Dreadnought and SSNA Class submarines, ensuring the Royal Navy’s future fleet is supported by world class engineering and logistics solutions.
Day-to-day, you’ll lead and coordinate the development of LSAR for submarine maintenance, driving collaboration across MoD, industry and engineering teams, while shaping ILS processes and providing technical leadership to ensure project success.
- Leading the development and population of the LSAR for maintenance task analysis across submarine platforms
- Supporting the creation and refinement of processes for Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) workstreams
- Collaborating with MoD stakeholders, industry partners and internal engineering teams to align best practices
- Facilitating working groups and driving cross-functional collaboration
- Providing technical leadership and reporting on project progress, risks and opportunities
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Principal Engineer
- Proficient in using LSAR systems and Microsoft Access
- Strong working knowledge of SQL, Oracle, or Eagle EPS
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and engaging stakeholders
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Confident communicator, able to convey complex ideas clearly
Qualifications for the Principal Engineer
- A degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant engineering discipline
- Equivalent experience in lieu of formal education will be considered
