The Technical Product Owner – Supply Chain Operations is a leader with a customer-centric mentality, responsible for business partnering with senior leaders and technology teams to drive strategy and implement solutions within areas of IT and the Engineering and Maintenance businesses across the Qantas Group.
The Technical Product Owner is accountable, through their squads, for the delivery of strategies, features, enhancements, projects and initiatives. They are also responsible for developing a team culture of continuous improvement and innovation across both direct and indirect reporting lines.
You will guide and mentor cross-functional squads and vendors to ensure features are delivered to commitments, and the products meet their service levels and are secure and resilient by design. The role works closely with various business owners to provide a single point of accountability across Plan, Build and Run IT functions for designated products and their underlying technology sub-systems.
What You Will Do
- Develop and deliver product strategy and roadmap, in collaboration with stakeholders, through understanding of business economic and revenue drivers and strategies, research and analysis of product performance and market data and of the competitive, compliance, regulatory and general industry landscape.
- Vendor management including financial, contractual and service obligations (e.g. Service Level Management).
- Product Planning and facilitate planning prioritisation of roadmaps and delivery sequence to meet overall product roadmap.
- Provide insights to inform economic decision-making by facilitating feature and capability estimation by teams.
- Manage quality of service and operational stability, including IT risk and compliance management, delivering service improvements and providing input to service management strategies.
What You Will Bring
- 5+ years’ experience in large enterprises and 3+ years in agile environments (or equivalent work experience)
- Solid experience in operational service management
- Airline technology experience, preferably Qantas
- People leadership experience across multiple configurations of teams
- Proven ability to apply analytical and critical thinking skills to solve, or lead the solving of strategic problems of high complexity on a large scale
- Expert stakeholder management skills across both business and technical functions
- Experience in coaching and modelling Agile mind-set and ways of working –
- Experience designing and facilitating fit for purpose workshops that deliver defined outcomes
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Able to work cross-functionally and align business unit processes to enterprise business processes
- Strong negotiation and conflict skills, strong commercial and business acumen
