About the role
As the System Technical Authority, you will support the JP9101 Enhanced Defence High Frequency Communication System (EDHFCS) program within the Mission and Support Systems business, providing independent assurance across the engineering product and service lifecycle.
This role focuses on ensuring that system requirements are clearly defined, verified and delivered in line with relevant legislation, regulatory frameworks, industry standards and Babcock policies.
In this role, you will contribute to technical investigations, risk assessments and engineering analysis to support system performance and continuous improvement.
You will review and approve technical documentation, participate in technical discussions and reviews with internal and external stakeholders, and provide engineering guidance where required.
As an authorised Technical Authority, you will also support sound engineering decision-making, help manage technical risk and product safety, and contribute to the development of engineering processes that enable high-quality program delivery.
About you
You are an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in systems, product or technical engineering within complex environments.
With a solid understanding of engineering lifecycles, you are comfortable working with technical requirements, standards and regulatory frameworks to support the delivery of safe, compliant and high-quality outcomes.
Your analytical mindset enables you to assess complex technical challenges, contribute to effective problem solving and support sound engineering decision-making.
Strong collaboration and communication skills will allow you to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders across engineering, project and customer teams.
Experience contributing to technical reviews, documentation and discussions will be highly regarded, along with the ability to share knowledge and support the development of others.
You value continuous improvement and professional growth and take pride in contributing to a strong and sustainable engineering capability.
To be successful in this position you will bring:
- Extensive experience in relatable technical/engineering roles.
- Hold an accredited (under the Washington Accord) bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Completed additional qualification/s in engineering/technical/management.
- An excellent understanding of applicable engineering toolsets (e.g. PLM or MRP systems, design, simulation and analysis software).
- Extensive experience in engineering design and support projects.
- Detailed knowledge of technical engineering disciplines.
- Detailed understanding of the Systems Engineering process as it applies to the activities of a Prime Systems Integrator.
