Job Description:
JOB TITLE: System Engineer
LOCATION: Dallas, TX (Hybrid role, may work from home)
DUTIES:
Verify integration workflows between microservices, optimization engines, and planner-facing UI to ensure seamless crew planning operations.
Test, validate, and troubleshoot REST APIs, Confluent Kafka event streams, and backend service contracts to ensure system interoperability.
Analyze and optimize system performance to support scalability across network complexity and enterprise demands.
Implement and validate observability tools including AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana for monitoring and disaster recovery readiness.
Identify architecture risks, scalability bottlenecks, and quality gaps during system design reviews.
Automate integration tests for newly developed functionality to support Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD).
Ensure technical quality, performance, and operational reliability of the Planit application through systematic and end-to-end validation.
Apply holistic testing approaches to evaluate the system as a whole rather than individual components.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information System, or a related field, and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or as a Sr. Software Engineer, Quality Engineer, Test Analyst, or in a related position/occupation.
In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, employer will accept an additional two (2) years of experience in the roles above and the skills listed below. Experience therein to include the following:
- 5 years in Systems Engineering, DevOps, or in Quality Engineering specifically supporting cloud-native and distributed applications;
- 5 years working on greenfield projects or modernization initiatives involving high system quality standards and complex system integration;
- 3 years with Lambda, API Gateway, S3, ECS, SNS/SQS/Elastic cache, and Ect;
- 3 years with REST APIs, Confluent Kafka event-driven architecture;
- 3 years with Angular, ReactJS, NodeJS, Java, Python, and Hypermedia;
- 3 years with OpenTelemetry, AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, or Grafana;
- 3 years with CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC);
- 3 years with End-to-end integration testing, and performance/load testing of microservices; and
- 3 years with Selenium, Postman, RestAssured, LoadRunner, and Playwright.
Hybrid role, ability to work from home.
