Delta Vacations, a Delta Air Lines Company is looking for a Business Development Manager to join the team. They will establish, develop and maintain effective business relationships with assigned travel agency accounts to promote and sell Delta Vacations in alignment with corporate sales goals and initiatives.
Please note: The selected candidate must be based in the Los Angeles (LAX) area.
Essential Functions
- Establish, develop and maintain business relationships and increase market share with assigned travel agency accounts by promoting and selling Delta Vacations.
- Identify, prospect, evaluate and grow new and existing travel agency business opportunities to support corporate sales goals and initiatives through activities including but not limited to sales calls, training, and utilization of the online booking engine and its resources.
- Conduct in person and virtual sales calls, webinars, presentations with the appropriate agency contacts within territory to communicate Delta Vacations product and service updates, sales related opportunities, goals and review agency performance.
- Prepare and implement agency partnership agreements, ensuring mutual benefit and profitability for Delta Vacations and negotiate back-end commission agreements when appropriate.
- Develop and execute strategic business development plans including marketing and coop advertising plans, where applicable, for identified key agency accounts.
- Develop and execute effective time and territorial management plan for assigned agency accounts.
- Evaluate customers’ business needs, evaluate performance and initiate tactical proposals for improvement toward plan goals.
- Manage account portfolio in order to grow in assigned geographic areas.
- Document sales activities in Salesforce in a timely manner including selection of key highlights to include on the weekly sales report.

Other Duties
- Provide scheduled updates to sales leadership on account initiatives and performance, market trends and competitive intelligence.
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of Delta brands, products, policies, and procedures.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with airline partners and ensure coordinated sales efforts.
- Escort and actively participate in sales activities, including but not limited to educational trips, tradeshows and conferences, sales blitzes, Delta Vacations University, as well as recognition & promotional events and activities.
- Generate, analyze and distribute reports pertaining to assigned responsibilities.
- Research and resolve Sales related issues.
- Continually evaluate process and make recommendations for efficiency improvements.
- Comply with all corporate and departmental policies/procedures and applicable governmental regulations.
- Attend and participate in meetings that pertain to assigned responsibilities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

POSITION TYPE/STANDARD SCHEDULE Full-Time Monday through Friday; 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend may be required as job duties demand.
TRAVEL Domestic and International travel is required, amount of travel is based on territory assigned and could be up to 60%.
SALARY RANGE: $49,645 - $80,110 (annually)
What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or equivalent work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years travel industry sales experience required, preferred experience in business development and sales with Travel Advisors.
- Must demonstrate strong public speaking, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of Delta Vacations programs, policies, procedures, and Internet reservations systems preferred.
- Strong PC and social media skills including MS Word, Excel and Power Point required.
- Strong mathematical proficiency required.
- Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
- Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
- Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
- Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
