Job Purpose
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The purpose of this role is to perform scheduled inspections, maintenance and unscheduled rectification of Aircraft Equipment and associated components, Bay support, and activities for PC9 Flight Line and Intermediate Maintenance operations. You will be able to achieve and maintain Production Inspections signatory capability for authorised specific trade certifications. To obtain and maintain certifications so as to support speciality and aircraft maintenance functions, achieving specialty cross utilisation training (CUT) qualifications.
You will also provide On the Job Training (OJT) function and Production Inspections. Troubleshooting, inspections, removals – installations, repairs, and operates PC9 Flight Line and Intermediate Maintenance operations and associated support and test equipment.
Job Accountabilities
- To provide operationally capable aircraft in support of KFAA pilot training programmes through carrying out aircraft maintenance tasks: Flight Line Servicing/tasks, scheduled servicing, fault troubleshooting/rectification, modifications, inspections/evaluations of aircraft systems/components and other related aircraft systems within the AMT specialty at the Intermediate/Organisational level maintenance for training aircraft.
- To provide technical specialty support in the: evaluation, interpretation, determinations of requisite maintenance faults & corrective actions, performance and operational status of specialty specific aircraft systems, components, testing and use of support equipment.
- Be able to achieve and maintain Production Inspections signatory capability for authorised specific trade certifications. To obtain and maintain certifications so as to support speciality and aircraft maintenance functions.
- Able to acquire user expertise and become conversant with the RSAF aircraft data management and tracking computer system – AUTO LOG, MIRO Gold.
- Able to understand and comply with the RSAF Safety and Foreign Object Programme.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
Essential
- Qualifications: National civilian/military equivalent recognised aircraft maintenance traineeship/apprenticeship
- Relevant type training (‘Q’ Course) and equipment specific training if required.
- Have extensive post qualification practical maintenance experience within operational flying aircraft environment supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training OR extensive experience on same aircraft type OR successful completion of BAESSA apprenticeship programme (SNTTP/ TSNTTP).
- Demonstrate knowledge / understanding of aircraft maintenance and engineering.
- Understanding and application of human factors, error management, health & safety and proactive hazard analysis, appropriate to the role.
- Relevant equipment specific training.
- Computer literate with a understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be a quality minded, mature, individual that adopts a positive and proactive approach to aircraft maintenance and support issues
- Must have and be able to demonstrate sound oral and written two-way communication skills with the ability to be tactful, discreet and confident in dealing with people at all levels
- Be able to work in close harmony in a mixed EE/SN workforce
- Must be able to work on their own initiative to resolve complex technical issues
Desirable
- Broad aerospace and defence company/industry knowledge.
- An understanding of BAESSA engineering operating procedures
- A sound understanding of the RSAF 4-1-7166 series and supporting technical publications applicable to their work area
- Working knowledge of Q-pulse, DMS and an understanding of M&CA processes.
- Have completed a PC9 Aircraft Systems specific training courses appropriate to specialties
