Role Introduction
Reports To: Rostering & Training Project Support Lead (SI)
This role is part of a professional team in our Flight Operations Department, which consists of flight crew and ground staff teams, both working to ensure the highest standards of operational efficiency and service. Safety is intrinsic to everything we do.
As an Assistant Manager Training-Simulator Support, you support in the effective utilization of Simulator Training Resources and to support training expansion of the department including ongoing logistical and administrative needs while abiding by the Regulatory and Training Management guidelines for Cathay Pacific Airways and for the Cathay Pacific Approved Training Organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Integration of rostering with simulator training operations by supporting scheduling in the preparation of monthly Simulator Training rosters and monitoring and managing Simulator Instructor (SI) leave to ensure effective training delivery and optimal device utilisation
- Support the development and maintenance of Training Programs for new Simulator Instructors and reporting inefficiencies in as monitored on an ongoing basis
- Develop administrative procedures to effectively manage Simulator Instructors with regard to their logistical requirements and supporting liaison where required for Global Business Services, People and Information Technology Department staff insofar as their support of our training organization
- Engage with planning and scheduling teams by providing relevant data and support to optimise SI resource availability and ensure projected SI tasks are effectively met, while preserving the confidentiality of sensitive Company information
- Provide monthly reports to Head of Flying Training (HFT) on Simulator Instructor rostering and productivity and ensure Digital & Training Project Support Manager (DTPSM) and HFT/Simulator Training Manager (as appropriate) are kept apprised of issues relevant to the Simulator Training Section
- Assist with Talent Acquisition in support of Simulator Instructor recruitment requirements, and provide limited cover for the Flight Operations Training Content and Systems Support Specialist role during periods of absence, including conducting or supporting special projects as directed by the DTPSM
- Represent the Company in a loyal and positive manner at relevant internal and external meetings and seminars on behalf of HFT, while seeking opportunities to enhance and improve the Simulator Training Section
- Make respective Simulator Training inputs to the appropriate cost centre budget
- Act as coordinator for external clients simulator needs- such as Hong Kong Express, Air Hong Kong
- Maintain a thorough understanding of applicable regulatory authority requirements to ensure the Company maintains ongoing compliance
Requirements
Knowledge
- Should have a general understanding of Flight Training programmes
- Knowledge of project and change management will be an advantage
- Should have general understanding of simulator training scheduling procedures and guidelines, together with a working knowledge of the administrative and contractual requirements applicable to managing the SI workforce
- Should have a working knowledge of the CAD regulatory documentation, ISARPs and company operating manual requirements applicable to Simulator Training for Cathay
Skills
- Must be able to communicate well in both written and verbal formats to all required audiences
- Must have a comprehensive ability in Microsoft Office
- Must possess Strong organizational, multi-tasking and time-management skills
Experience
- Demonstrate excellence in training administration and management, with experience in airline or aviation training administration within a major airline
- Experience in a crew scheduling role would be an advantage
- University Degree, ideally aviation related or minimum 5 years’ experience in aviation related role
