Key Responsibilities:
Design & Development:
- Create lighting solutions that meet FAA, EASA, and customer specifications.
- Develop innovative optical surfaces for lenses and reflectors to optimize performance.
- Perform lighting analysis and define feasibility of designs using technical data.
Testing & Validation:
- Evaluate and select LEDs based on application requirements.
- Validate product performance using photometric testing equipment.
- Correlate designs with test results and recommend countermeasures.
Collaboration & Expertise:
- Prepare feasibility reports, customer presentations, and regulatory testing support.
- Attend design reviews and customer meetings to share insights and ensure project success.
- Stay on top of lighting industry trends and provide recommendations for future capabilities.
What We’re Looking For:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Optics, Physics, Engineering, or Mathematics.
- 0–5 years of experience in LED, incandescent, or laser technologies, with knowledge of regulatory specifications.
Skills & Experience:
- Expertise in 3D CAD systems (CREO or SolidWorks preferred).
- Familiarity with lighting simulation software, like Optis.
- Experience in optical design for lighting products (aviation experience a bonus!).
- Strong knowledge of photometry, colorimetry, radiometry, and associated testing equipment.
