As a Senior Manager within the Robotics Unit. This pivotal role demands dynamic leadership and in-depth expertise in robotics and unmanned systems technology, specifically focused on steering the defence sector business to robust growth and market presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Robotics Unit with full P&L and revenue accountability, ensuring business objectives and financial targets are met within the defence market segment.
- Drive the development, solutioning, and management of defence robotics business opportunities, catering to local and international customers through strategic engagement and innovation.
- Champion the pursuit and management of tender and contract bids, including the end-to-end coordination and evaluation processes aligned with customer requirements and company goals.
- Plan and coordinate resource allocation effectively within cross-functional teams to optimise productivity, project delivery, and client satisfaction.
- Analyse and interpret current and emergent robotics, automation, and unmanned system technology trends to inform strategic direction and research focus in alignment with market demands and customer needs.
- Formulate comprehensive market engagement plans and winning strategies for robotics and unmanned systems to enhance competitive positioning and business expansion.
- Identify and address customer pain points through collaboration across departments, contributing to innovative product development and enhanced solution offerings.
- Manage the allocated Business Development budget judiciously, ensuring optimal use of resources to maximise return on investment and strategic outcomes.
- Demonstrate commitment to business growth by being available to travel overseas as required, fostering strong client relations and partnerships globally.
Candidate Requirements
- Hold a degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering; candidates with equivalent qualifications in related fields will be considered.
- Bring at least 10 years of substantive experience within commercial and/or military robotics systems, with a proven track record of P&L responsibility and successful revenue generation.
- Possess hands-on or comprehensive knowledge of robotics, unmanned technologies, or autonomation, contributing practical insights to business strategy and technology development.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with proficiency in English both written and spoken; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.
- Showcase capability in strategic planning, risk management, and crafting compelling business plans that effectively articulate value propositions to diverse stakeholders.
- Preferably, be familiar with the local defence ecosystem, enabling prompt and effective navigation of regulatory and partnership landscapes.
- Demonstrate awareness or experience in sustainable energy industries, which will be considered an asset in informing innovative and responsible business practices.
