The Learning and Development (L&D) Specialist is responsible for the administration, development, and delivery of training programs that enhance employee skills, foster professional growth, and support workforce development. The role is centered on the administration and maintenance of LSI’s Learning Management System (LMS) while also supporting the delivery of training initiatives across diverse employee groups, including manufacturing, engineering, and office staff.
The L&D Specialist collaborates closely with the Corporate Learning and Development Manager, local stakeholders, and Litmos SMEs to ensure seamless coordination of learning programs and precise tracking of training activities. Operating across LSI’s sites in East Aurora, NY; Lebanon, NH; and Montreal, Canada, this role requires occasional travel to support in-person training programs and ensure alignment in training delivery across locations.
What You'll Do:
Learning Management System (LMS) Administration
- Serve as the primary administrator for the company’s LMS (Litmos) to manage user accounts, update content, create course assignments, track training completion, and generate reports.
- Provide technical support to employees and site-specific administrators, ensuring consistent LMS use across locations.
- Collaborate with the Corporate L&D Manager to launch, maintain, and optimize learning programs delivered via the LMS.
- Ensure training records are accurate and complete to meet compliance requirements.
Program Delivery & Training Support
- Deliver targeted training initiatives, such as role-specific workforce training for manufacturing teams and basic leadership development workshops.
- Coordinate logistics for training sessions, including scheduling, maintaining attendance records, and gathering learner feedback.
- Facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions (e.g., LMS orientations or operational skills training).
- Assist the Corporate Learning and Development Manager in implementing and facilitating company-wide training initiatives.
Manufacturing & Production Training Support
- Work with operational leaders and subject matter experts to support training initiatives for manufacturing and production teams.
- Assist in coordinating and tracking role-specific training programs that improve workforce capability and productivity.
- Support the administration and tracking of internal trainer programs within the LMS.
Instructional Design & Training Support
- Support the development of learning materials such as eLearning modules, job aids, presentations, and training guides.
- Assist in updating and maintaining existing training content to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Facilitate occasional training sessions or LMS orientations as needed.
- Ensure all training content is properly structured and delivered through the LMS.
Multi-Location Support
- Serve as a key point of contact for LMS administration and training coordination across LSI’s locations in East Aurora, Lebanon, and Montreal.
- Provide guidance and support to local training contacts and LMS administrators.
- Travel as needed (approximately 10–20%) to support training facilitation and LMS adoption across locations.
- Build strong working relationships with site leaders and HR partners to ensure training programs are effectively supported.
What You'll Bring:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Learning and Development, Education, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in training coordination, LMS administration, or instructional support in a manufacturing or corporate environment.
- Experience in developing and delivering onboarding, technical, or job-specific training programs.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Learning Management System (LMS) administration (e.g., Litmos, Workday Learning, or similar platforms).
- Basic instructional design skills with proven experience in preparing eLearning modules and training materials.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to present effectively to diverse teams.
Key Competencies:
- Ability to handle multiple programs and operational tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills across functions and locations.
- Detail-oriented, with a collaborative mindset and a focus on delivering practical training solutions.
- Familiarity with manufacturing/production operational training processes is preferred.
- French language proficiency (preferred but not required).
Work Conditions
- This role is based in East Aurora, NY, with some flexibility for remote work.
- Travel as needed (approximately 10–20%) to support training implementation and LMS adoption across locations.
Compensation & Benefits:
Base salary: $65,000 through $75,000, influenced by several factors including experience, skill set, education, certifications, market conditions, and business needs.
