STS Technical Services is hiring Aircraft Upholstery Technicians in Ft. Pierce, Florida. This is a contract position with the opportunity for direct hire, supporting full teardown and rebuild projects on Twin Otter aircraft.
Position Overview
The Aircraft Upholstery Technician is responsible for complete seat construction and interior installation work as part of full aircraft rebuild programs. This is a hands-on role requiring precision craftsmanship and attention to detail across all phases of upholstery work.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complete aircraft seat construction, including foam build up, shaping, sewing, and final covering
- Cut, sew, and install upholstery materials to meet design and quality specifications
- Install completed seats into aircraft, ensuring proper fit and secure attachment
- Fabricate and install interior components including side panels, bulkheads, and other cabin elements
- Interpret technical drawings, patterns, and work instructions
- Ensure all work meets quality, safety, and regulatory standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience in upholstery work from initial build through final installation
- Strong sewing skills and experience working with various upholstery materials
- Ability to build seat foam structures and complete full seat assemblies
- Experience installing interiors and components within confined spaces
- High attention to detail and craftsmanship
Preferred Background
- Aircraft interior or upholstery experience strongly preferred
- Relevant experience in:
- Marine (boats)
- RV manufacturing or repair
