Senior Reactor Operators, $159-182K/year.
Openings for Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) Trainees are required at the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Plant/Clean Energy Center in Lusby, MD (western shore of the Chesapeake Bay).
Total compensation of $159-182K, including:
- Target 15% annual incentive bonus
- Sign On Bonus
- $10K in milestone bonuses, throughout training
- After SRO License obtained, total compensation goes to $191K
- Comprehensive benefits, 401K with employer match, employee stock purchase plan, paid holidays/vacation/sick time
- Relocation provided - includes packing/moving your home, $10K net payment upon move.
- Work 6-week rotation and then have an entire week off – each rotation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Ability to relocate and start work no later than 9/22/26
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-year Reactor Operator license at a PWR facility or 1.5 years at a BWR facility.
OR
- 1.5 years or more (after qualification) as a Navy Reactor Operator on a ship/sub in active duty (not in maintenance). Acceptable positions include Reactor Operator, Power Plant Watch Engineer, Engineering Watch Supervisor, Engineering Officer of the Watch, Propulsion Plant Watch Supervisor.
- Ability to successfully pass pre-employment testing (Plant Operator Selection System, Math/Science Test and FLS Leadership Assessment)
Job Summary while in training to obtain an NRC License:
The initial license trainee will combine classroom instruction, simulator training, and on-the-job experience to acquire the essential skills and knowledge to meet the qualifications for a Senior Reactor Operator License holder. Upon completion of the qualification, the candidate will be fully licensed by the NRC to supervise the operations of the reactor control room.
- Completion of Fundamentals Phase, completion of Simulator Certification, acquiring SRO status, attainment of NRC SRO License (80%)
- Study time, field time needed to attain licensed status (10%)
- Project work, outage assignments, or duties as assigned to support the site operations (10%)
Job Summary after training:
Provide direct oversight of Constellation’s Nuclear Power Generating Station operations, including directing Reactor Operators in controlling plant operations, Equipment Operators in field operations, procedure use, and tagging evolutions.
