Johnson Service Group is seeking a Planner for an Electronic Manufacturing client in San Jose. This person is responsible for production scheduling, validating documents and tooling for production readiness, deviation processing, work order processing, expediting materials to meet build schedules while collaborating cross-functionally to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Process customer purchase orders and maintain order backlog
- Manage work orders, delivery confirmations, and production schedules
- Run MRP and ensure material availability for build readiness
- Expedite open purchase orders in partnership with procurement
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (production, engineering, quality, program management)
- Support planning process improvements to drive efficiency and cost reduction
- Participate in customer meetings to align production with demand
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting
- Utilize SAP and other systems to manage planning activities
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and internal procedures
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of planning or production control experience in a manufacturing environment (EMS preferred)
- Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with strong time management and follow-through
